2Pac & Friends
I get funny things forwarded to me via email all the time. Often these things give me a welcome chuckle in my busy day. Once in a while, however, I get something sent to me that I remember forever.
One of the more popular internet phenomena is the infamous mash-up — taking on soundtrack (whether is be music or speech) and setting it to a different video altogether. Usually these end up poorly done and bring but a gentle smirk to my phase.
Until today, I’d only seen 3 memorable mash-ups in my life:
- My friend Mark Hathaway’s mash-up of the video to Britney Spears’ song, “… Baby One More Time” with the Lords of Acid song, “Pussy”
- Billy Joel’s video, “Uptown Girl” with Britney Spear’s song, “Toxic.” This was really only funny because it was a Billy Joel video.
- The Peanuts christmas special mashed up with Outcasts, “Hey Ya!”
But today, my good friend Sameer sent me the link to a mash up of a bunch of clips from the children’s show “Barney and Friends” with the song “Hit ’em up” by the late 2Pac. So, without further adieu:
