Writing a song

So I was at Sameer’s house on Sunday and at about 3 in the morning, we get this brilliant idea to write a song. I can usually sit in front of the piano and put out some riffs, but this is a whole new animal. Every time I write some chord progressions on the piano, I keep thinking it’d be easier if I had lyrics to go with them. And every time I try to write lyrics they end up being sappy and dopey. I’ll keep you updated on whats going on.

Speaking of Sunday, did anyone see the Packers – Jaguars game on Sunday evening? Lost in the hoopla surrounding Donovin Darius’ hit on Robert Ferguson was perhaps the funniest unsportsmanlike conduct penalty I’ve ever seen. About 10 minutes after Darius’ hit, Brett Favre hit the ref in the head with a football. The funniest part of this was that as it happened, the camera was on Favre and the ref was walking by, so all of America got to see Favre throw the football, then the football hitting the ref in the head, then Favre’s mouth dropping, then the ref turning his head to see who threw the ball, and then poor Brett’s “Oops” apologetic face. Anyways, Sameer, Ninad and I spent a good 5 minutes laughing our asses off. And I really wish I had a video of it.
